V5RC Robotics

What is V5RC?

V5RC stands for VEX V5 Robotics Competition. It is the flagship competitive program organized by VEX Robotics for middle school and high school students, using the VEX V5 hardware and software system.

What Students do in V5RC

Design & Build: Teams engineer robots from VEX V5 parts to accomplish a specific annual game challenge.

Code & Control: Robots are programmed in C++ or Python using VEXcode V5 or other supported environments.

Document Work: Teams keep a detailed engineering notebook outlining their design process, iterations, and problem-solving.

Compete: Matches are played on a 12’x12’ field where robots complete objectives for points in a 1-minute autonomous and 1-minute driver-controlled round.

Collaborate: Alliances with other teams add strategy and teamwork to the competition experience.
